Metro Nashville worker killed in accident

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Metro Nashville Public Works employee has died after being hit by a garbage truck.

Police told media the worker was riding on the back of the garbage truck late Tuesday when something occurred and he apparently lost his balance and fell off. The driver wasn't aware and backed over the man killing him.

Metro Police Capt. Jason Starling says officers are investigating, but it appears to be a tragic accident.
