Metro Atlanta Woman Celebrates 107th Birthday

A metro Atlanta woman is celebrating a milestone birthday on Sunday! Cora Elizabeth Hopkins Fisher turns 107-years-old on Sunday and a huge celebration is taking place on Monday in her honor.

Fisher was born on August 30 in 1908. She grew up in Grant Park and worked as a cashier for the Georgia school system. She has seen a lot in her lifetime! She’s lived through major wars and was around when the television was invented.

Fisher, the youngest of four siblings, was married for 68 years to Herbert Hartsfield Fisher. They never had children, but she enjoys spoiling her nieces and nephews.

She now lives at Delmar Gardens in Smyrna. She’s been a resident since 2002. Her favorite activity is watching the Andy Griffith Show.

Her party on Monday is a “pink theme” and everyone is asked to wear pink, which is Fisher’s favorite color. She will celebrate her big day with fellow residents, staff, family and friends. They will enjoy cake and champagne.

From all of us at FOX 5 News, happy 107th birthday Mrs. Fisher!
