Mesquite police chase man on horse

Three men were arrested after a fight at the Mesquite Rodeo ended with some of the men fleeing on horseback.

Mesquite police were called about a fight at the rodeo grounds on Sunday night. One man was arrested on the scene, but two other men got onto their horses and left.

"The types of calls that involved animals in that area would mostly be like loose stock," said Mesquite PD spokesman Brian Parrish. "I don't remember in the time I've been here where one of our suspects left the scene on a horse."

A short time later, the officers spotted the two on a residential street. One man stopped, but the other galloped away. The second man wound up putting his horse in a backyard and was later found walking down the street.

Police eventually caught up to him and had to use a Taser because they said he wouldn’t cooperate.

Aaron Ibarra, 27, Franciso Torres, 31, and Macario Andrade, 31, were all arrested by police. They face charges that include public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting and evading arrest.
