Mercedes-Benz stadium to host first Falcons game Saturday

The brand new Mercedes-Benz stadium will host its first Atlanta Falcons game on Saturday.

The preseason opener game against the Arizona Cardinals will christen the $1.6 billion sports and entertainment arena, which will also be home to Atlanta's soccer team, Atlanta United FC.

Mercedes-Benz stadium has been 10 years in the making and includes 28,000 tons of steel and 19 mega columns.

The arena also features an elaborate, restaurant/bar ambiance in the Mercedes-Benz Club for 3,000 premium seat holders, a player designed locker room and a 100 Yard Club that is a tribute to Falcon players in the 300 section.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium is set to host a Falcons preseason game on August 26, an Atlanta United game on September 10, two Chick-fil-A kickoff games on September 2 and 4, and a Garth Brooks concert on October 12.
