MARTA employees raise nearly $70K to buy toys for children in need
ATLANTA - Metro Atlanta MARTA employees are giving back this holiday season.
Tuesday morning, more than 4,000 children of families in need received brand new gifts at the annual MARTA Holiday Gift Shop.
Employees raised nearly $70,000 for this year's gift giveaway, which included items such as trucks, dolls and bicycles.
"New to this year's giveaway are tablets that some children will receive as part of MARTA's focus on technology and education," MARTA said in a news release.

The event took place at MARTA Headquarters where the atrium was transformed into a winter wonderland full of presents.
