MARTA Employees Provide 4K Needy Children with Gifts

ATLANTA - MARTA employees are helping make the holidays brighter for some metro Atlanta children in need. 

Through its charity club, MARTA employees raised thousands of dollars to give presents to 4,000 needy children. Families of children ages 10 and under were able to pre-register for a toy giveaway, which took place Monday morning at MARTA headquarters. 

The children were presented with new toys including bicycles, technology games and educational gifts. 

"This 30-year tradition has provided an unforgettable experience to the children of families in need of assistance," MARTA employees said in a news release. 

The event started with a ribbon cutting ceremony. FOX 5 News was there as the gifts were being distributed.
