Man wanted in deadly Union City shooting

UNION CITY, Ga. - Police are investigating a deadly shooting outside a Union City apartment complex. 

The shooting happened outside the Shannon Chase Apartments on Highway 138 late Sunday night.

Witnesses told FOX 5 a person driving a van met with someone at the complex. Then, there was a conversation that quickly turned violent. Witnesses heard gunshots and said a young man involved in that conversation started running, but he could not escape the shooter, who fired another round.  

Responding officers found the victim, identified as 25-year-old Marcellus Vaughn, unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim died, according to police. 

Union City Police said the suspected gunman has been identified as Demetrius Spratlin, of Atlanta. He's considered armed and dangerous. Warrants have been issued for Spratlin's arrest.

Anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts is asked to call the police.
