JOHNS CREEK, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - One of three suspects named by Johns Creek Police in connection to the death of a woman found inside a burning car in Lawrenceville has turned himself in to authorities.
Michael Smith, 20, turned himself in to officers at the QuikTrip gas station late Monday evening.
Smith is one of three men wanted for the murder of Adelisa Murtovic on Oct. 29. Police are still searching for 18-year-old Deshaun Flournoy and 20-year-old Antoine Sims.
Firefighters found Murtovic's body inside the vehicle after extinguishing the flames. The car was fully ablaze when they arrived on scene.
At the time, police called the death suspicious and suspected foul play, believing that the car was set on fire deliberately.
Police said an investigation led them to a Johns Creek apartment complex after Murtovic's boyfriend told them the couple had recently gone to the apartments to buy drugs.
All three men are wanted for felony murder. Sims is wanted for purchase, distribution, and sale of marijuana. Smith was wanted for aggravated assault, attempted armed robbery, and possession of a firearm. Flournoy is wanted for attempted armed robbery.
