Man wanted for fire at Decatur coffeehouse
DECATUR, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Authorities in Decatur said they are now searching for a man wanted in connection to a fire at a popular coffee shop.
Rickey Thomas, 28, is wanted for arson in the first degree. Investigators believe he is behind a fire at the Java Monkey Coffee Shop and Wine Bar during the early morning hours of Nov. 11.
The business had been a haven for coffee and music lovers for nearly two decades. The shop is located across from the Decatur Square on Church Street.
Java Monkey is located in the middle of a cluster of several other shops and restaurants. Fire officials said all the businesses in the area were closed at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. But four of those businesses were damaged by smoke from the blaze.
