Man steals cash and cigarettes from Gwinnett County gas station

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Gwinnett County are looking for a thief who broke into a gas station and stole cash and cigarettes.

It happened at the Shell gas station located at 4900 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in near Norcross. Gwinnett County Police released surveillance video footage of the burglary.

The video shows that the thief carrying a black trash bag and a pry bar. He smashed cameras on the outside of the business before forcing his way inside causing more than $2,000 in damages.

Police said he stole about $1,000 in cash as well as 136 cartons of cigarettes.

Investigators believe he may be driving either a dark green 4-door passenger car, possibly a Chevy Cruze or a White Chevy or GMC extended cab pickup with a bed cover and silver rims.

Anyone who recognized the man should call the Gwinnett County Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
