Man Killed in Shooting at DeKalb Co. Apartment Complex

A man died in a shooting in an apartment complex parking lot early Wednesday morning, DeKalb County police said.

The victim was sitting in a car with another man at the Paradise East Apartments on Bouldercrest Road, investigators said. The men were approached by one or more armed men who walked up to the car and opened fire. The victim got out of the vehicle and collapsed. He died at the scene. The other man in the car was not hurt. Police said he was cooperating with investigators.

Detectives told FOX 5 the gunman escaped on foot. Officers said no one was in custody, and they did not offer any description of the attacker or attackers.

Police have not released the name of the victim. However, people who appeared to be family or friends broke down in tears at the scene when officers told them about what happened.
