"We are investigating it as an attempted armed robbery which we've had a rash of them in that area, in the 1400 block of Rock Cut Road," said Sergeant Keli Flanigan, with the Forest Park Police Department.
Last Friday night, Flores-Ramos was found shot once in the head in the breezeway of the L building of the Willow Park Apartment complex. His cousin said Flores-Ramos had been coming home from a nearby store when he was attacked.
"He struggled with him, two times he escaped the second time, he hit him in the face and that's when the guy he took out the gun and shot him in the head," said Jose Morales, the cousin of Flores-Ramos.
"We don't want other families to go through what we're going through you know what I mean, "said Morales.
