Man found dead in swimming pool identifiied

BROOKHAVEN, Ga. - Authorities have ruled the death of a man found in a Brookhaven apartment complex’s pool a suicide.

Brookhaven Police said Todd Andries, 49, was found underwater in the pool at Marquis Villa Apartments around 10:15 a.m. Friday. Police said the body was bound to a poolside chair at the legs and left arm with duct tape.

The DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office said the death was a suicide by asphyxiation. Authorities said Andries had a history of depression and there were no signs of a struggler or foul play.
