Man dies in mobile home fire

DACULA, Ga - A mobile home fire in Dacula leaves one person dead. A passerby called 911 to report the fire in the 2000 block of Fence Road, NE just after 1:30 Saturday afternoon.

One person escaped the fire but a 47-year-old man was trapped inside. The passerby and a neighbor tried to rescue the victim but the intense flames and heavy smoke kept them from getting inside.

Once the flames were extinguished firefighters found the victim's body. The man who escaped was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
