Man dies after being hit by MARTA train

ATLANTA - A man has died after being hit by a MARTA train at the Edgewood/Candler Park station Wednesday morning.

MARTA officials say the man was trespassing on the tracks, but it’s unclear how got there. He reportedly suffered head and arm injuries, and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. The man was later pronounced dead.

MARTA officials say they are experiencing service delays and have established a bus bridge.

Crews are working to restore service as quickly as possible.
