Man charged with meth trafficking

COWETA COUNTY, Ga. - A Coweta County man faces meth trafficking charges.

Deputies said they stopped Thornton Whitley after they received a tip he had drugs in his car.

Deputies said he and a passenger admitted to buying heroin but when deputies tried to arrest Whitley, deputies said he ran across Bullsboro Drive to try to escape.

Deputies arrested him a short time later and that's when they said they found a total of 35 grams of meth on him.

He was charged with trafficking.
