Man arrested in Gilmer County's largest meth bust
GILMER COUNTY, Ga. - A man has been arrested after what's being called the "largest methamphetamine bust" in the history of Gilmer County.

On Wednesday, August 9, authorities seized a kilo, 2.2 pounds, of methamphetamine from a home on Big Creek Road.
Joey David Abernathy, a resident at the home, was taken into custody for trafficking methamphetamine and probation violation.
Abernathy's arrest was the result of a joint effort by the Gilmer County Sheriff's Office, Zell Miller Mountain Parkway Drug Task Force, the Georgia Dept of Community Supervision (Probation/Parole) and Pre-trial probation officer Larry Clemens.
