Man arrested for deadly high-speed car crash
ATLANTA - A man is behind bars for a deadly crash that happened over Labor Day weekend in DeKalb County.
Investigators say 30-year-old Union City resident Jaron Hester was trying to get away from police over traffic violations when he lost control of his car and wrecked on Interstate 85 near North Druid Hills Road on Sept. 2.
They say Hester was driving over 100 miles per hour on the highway at the time of the crash.
A female passenger in the car, Jazmin Jeanty, died of her injuries.
Deputies arrested Hester on Friday in Union City and transported him to the DeKalb County Jail.
He faces charges including felony murder, false imprisonment, driving under the influence, fleeing a police officer, and reckless driving.
