A citizen’s tip leads to a major drug bust and two arrests in Marietta.

Police say the individual, who wants to remain anonymous, saw some suspicious activity Thursday at the Public Storage on Cobb Parkway and picked up the phone to call the police.

Officers sent K-9 Alex and his handler over.  The dog immediately alerted on 30 pounds of marijuana behind a storage door in one of the units.

That is when police set up surveillance and officers said two suspects walked right into their plan.  Chuck Raiford, 40, and Telisha Passmore, 45, both from Columbus, Georgia were arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana.

Police say the dope is worth $100,000 on the streets. They say the case is a textbook example of how police can work with the public to keep our streets safe.

“Hats off to that individual who had the courage to call us and say something seems wrong, please look at this,” PIO Officer Chick McPhilamy remarked.

Police say they are still looking into whether Raiford and Passmore were working with other suspects in a larger drug operation.
