Madison Pruitt dies days after being honored by Chicago police

A young girl whose ambition was to become a Chicago police officer died on Sunday.

Just days before, the inspiring 6-year-old Madison Pruitt, received a police star, her own uniform and a medal of valor from interim police superintendent Eddie Johnson and roughly 75 other police officers.

Madison was diagnosed with a rare muscle cancer last year. Still, her ambition to become a Chicago police officer remained unwavering.

“If something bad happens, without police officers you can't do nothing about it,” Madison said.
