A powerful cold front swept across north Georgia Thursday morning bringing a surge of Arctic Air behind it. A strong northwest flow was able to squeeze out a few flurries or light snow showers as the Arctic Blast collided with the leftover moisture.

A number of photos and videos started pouring into the FOX 5 Newsroom as flurries began to fall around 10 a.m. Some of the areas where light snowfall was reported included Dallas, Douglasville, Acworth, Marietta, Kennesaw, and Blairsville.

Increasing sunshine will occur throughout the afternoon Thursday, but the winter chill is here to stay.

Wind chills Friday morning will be in the teens or low 20s and then by Saturday morning temperatures will flirt with the coldest air of the season so far.

Expect plenty of weekend sunshine, but make sure you prepare for winter-like temperatures.
