Lawnmower Wreck Leaves Man Dead, 7 Children Injured

SUMMERVILLE, Ga. - FOX 5 News has learned a Summerville man died in an accident involving a lawnmower.

Georgia State Patrol said 68-year-old Donald W. Smith was driving a “yard machine” lawnmower east on Chisolm Trail while pulling a utility trailer carrying seven children.

Smith lost control and overturned, leaving the north shoulder of the road. He died in the wreck.

The seven kids sustained non-life threatening injuries. They were between the ages of 2 and 12.
