4 shot in Lakewood Heights shooting; Atlanta police investigating
ATLANTA - Four men were shot in the Lakewood Heights neighborhood of Atlanta on Friday afternoon.
Officers surrounded the area of Lakewood Avenue SE near Livermore Street SE combing the scene well into the evening.
What we know:
According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers responded shortly after 5 p.m. to Grady Memorial Hospital for a report of a person arriving at the emergency room with a gunshot wound.
A 19-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg, a 31-year-old man sustained wounds to his abdomen and arm, a 34-year-old man was shot in the hand and leg, and a 37-year-old man had a gunshot wound to his hand.
Investigators were able to determine the scene was in the Lakewood Heights neighborhood.
The immediate area was surrounded by crime scene tape, and officers, including a K-9, appeared to be searching the area. The road was reopened later in the evening.
What we don't know:
The identities of those who were shot have not been released.
It was not clear if police were searching for someone.
The APD Aggravated Assault Unit is investigating.
