Joly’s Vinegar sold on Amazon recalled over labeling error posing deadly poisoning risk
The Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) says the recall involves 32-ounce bottles of Joly’s 80% Vinegar. (CPSC)
The Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for Joly’s 80% Vinegar sold on Amazon due to the lack of required warning labels and first-aid treatment instructions that poses a deadly risk of poisoning.
Dig deeper:
The CPSC says the recall involves 32-ounce bottles of Joly’s 80% Vinegar, manufactured by Joly’s LLC, of Orlando, Florida, and sold on Amazon.com from May 2025 through November 2025 for about $23 in a pack of two transparent bottles. The bottles have an orange and red label with white lettering that has "Joly’s" brand, "80% Vinegar" and "Dilutes to 5 Gallons".
What we know:
According to the CPSC, the product violates the precautionary labeling requirements under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act (FHSA) because the hazardous substance lacks required warning labels and first-aid treatment instructions. The lack of the proper labeling poses a deadly risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed and a serious injury from chemical burns to the skin and eyes if improperly handled, according to the CPSC.
What you can do:
The CPSC says consumers immediately move the vinegar products out of sight and reach of children and contact Joly’s to receive a full refund and disposal instructions.
Consumers will be asked to send an email to jolysllc@gmail.com with a photo of the recalled product in its original packaging and "RECALLED" printed on the container.
The CPSC says no injuries have been reported.
