Infant boy dies after being left in hot car in Alabama

VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say an infant is dead after being left in a hot car outside an Alabama office building.

Lt. Ryan Farrell of the Vestavia Hills Fire Department says police and firefighters were called to the building Friday after the 1-year-old boy was found inside the parked vehicle.

The child was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Al.com reported (http://bit.ly/2obenVG ) that the child's father had accompanied the boy to the hospital.

Investigators didn't immediately know how long the boy had been in the vehicle.
