Thousands of fans faced enhanced security as they entered the Southeastern Conference championship game Saturday in Atlanta. Georgia Dome officials opened the doors early, so that fans could have extra time to be screened and reach their seat.

Police tell FOX 5 Atlanta that fans will notice an increase in security in and around the game. Plans to add extra security were developed following the deadly terror attacks in Paris.

Atlanta Police are working with the GBI and Georgia State Patrol to keep the event safe for fans.
