Hyundai Hope on Wheels awards grant to CHOA

The Hyundai Hope on Wheels organization has announced plans for $500,000 worth of grants to the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

The grant awards will go to Dr. Kelly Goldsmith, the Hyundai Hope Scholar recipient, and Dr. Waitman Aumann, the Young Investigator award recipient. The awards will be presented Thursday morning.

During the presentation, childhood cancer patients will participate in a "handprint ceremony", dipping their hands in paint and leaving prints on the "Hope Vehicle", a white 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe.

Hyundai Hope on Wheels is marking its 20th year as an organization dedicated to finding a cure for childhood cancer. In those 20 years, Hyundai Hope on Wheels has awarded more than $145 million in grants to fund childhood cancer research.
