AUGUSTA, Ga. - Human remains found in Augusta have been identified as a teen reported missing almost a year ago.
The Richmond County Coroner confirmed Monday that the remains belong to 16-year-old Latania Carwell.
She was reported missing in April of last year.
Then in August, her mother, Tonya Tripp, and stepfather, Leon Tripp, were charged in connection with her disappearance.
Her stepfather was charged with murder and kidnapping.
Her mother was charged with concealing a death.
