Home invasion suspect appears in court on charges

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - An 18-year-old woman who is charged in a shocking case out of Gwinnett County made her first appearance in court Friday morning.

Angela Garcia faces numerous charges including rape, cruelty to children, and home invasion.

The Duluth woman is one of four teens charged in a vicious attack at an apartment in Tucker last month

Investigators said the teens attacked a woman in a home invasion, threw boiling water on her, shocked her with a stun gun, and then raped her.

Friday, the judge named a court-appointed attorney for Garcia.

No word on her next court appearance.
