Hiawassee Police Chief Passes Away
HIAWASSEE, Ga. - FOX 5 News has learned the Hiawassee Police Department's Chief of Police has passed away.
Chief Jimmy Wright died at his home Sunday morning.
"It is with a heavy heart that we say farewell to our Chief of Police Jimmy Wright," the police department said on Facebook.
Chief Wright has served the Hiawassee community as a law enforcement officer for 25 years.
"He will be sorely missed."
Hiawassee Police said when funeral arrangements have been announced, they will notify the public on Facebook.
