Hapeville police investigating hazmat incident at construction site

HAPEVILLE, Ga. - Hapeville police are investigating a hazmat incident Thursday.  

The incident took place in a construction area in the 3600 block of Union Avenue. According to police, construction crews came into work and found an unknown exposed item on a tractor. 

Several employees were exposed to the item, and were treated at the scene. 

The hazmat situation forced surrounding roads to shut down.
