Hamburger Mary's announces its closing Ybor location

The Hamburger Mary's restaurant in Ybor City is closing permanently, the restaurant announced Tuesday on its Facebook page.

Hamburger Mary's has been located in Centro Ybor on 7th Avenue for nine years, but the restaurant had to close temporarily last month after one of its employees tested positive for Hepatitis A.

Health officials said anyone who dined at the restaurant from Oct. 4 to Oct. 20 should get a Hepatitis A vaccination as a precaution and health inspectors found 26 health violations, 10 of which were considered high priority.

"We, along with our Management Team and dedicated staff, have done our best to keep Mary’s doors open for nine years, but the latest challenge over the last couple of weeks has proven to be too much to overcome," the restaurant posted on its Facebook page. "It was our pleasure to serve the entire community whether it was a safe place to come and enjoy a meal amongst friends or a place to hold your community fundraisers."
