GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Gwinnett police are responding to a shooting involving an officer on Thursday afternoon. 

What we know:

Law enforcement is responding to the 600 block of Oaktree Park Court NW in Lawrenceville, which is in the Oaktree Meadows subdivision. The incident started around 5:30 p.m. 

 The GBI is also investigating, which is standard protocol when an officer fires their weapon.
