Gwinnett families displaced by fire
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - A fast-moving, wind-whipped fire sent people running out of their apartment homes Thursday night. It happened at the Valencia Park apartment complex in Gwinnett County.
Several eyewitnesses told FOX 5 the fire started in the attic near a stairwell.
Captain Tommy Rutledge with Gwinnett County Fire Rescue said firefighters had to douse the blaze from outside due to a partial roof collapse.
He said eleven adults and two children were displaced.
Firefighters said management at the complex and the Red Cross are working to help find homes for displaced residents.
The cause of the blaze is still undetermined. No one was injured.
