GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - A Mill Creek High School teacher was arrested for reckless conduct and discharging a firearm.
Police tell FOX 5 that Nyree Rapley was drunk when she fired a shot inside her Braselton townhouse on March 20.
According to reports, Rapley was drunk and fighting with her boyfriend.
Her boyfriend attempted to leave, but Rapley wouldn't let him, according to police. That’s when Rapley allegedly grabbed his guns out of the truck and ran back inside the home.
She reportedly locked herself in the bedroom and fired a shot into the wall. That bullet traveled through her town home wall and into the bedroom of her 16- year-old neighbor.
Police say the teen was not injured, but she was sleeping at the time of the shooting.
Rapley has been with Mill Creek High School since 2001 and she is still employed with the district.
