GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - The tires were slashed, a window smashed, and a fire set inside daycare bus in Gwinnett County this week. Fire investigators are hoping a five-figure reward will help lead to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
It happened just after midnight Tuesday at The Harvest School located in the 2700 block of North Deshong Road near Stone Mountain. The incident was caught on a surveillance camera. Investigators said it shows a person slashing the tires of the bus, leaving for a short amount of time, and then the same person returning to light the fire.
Firefighters responded to the scene just before 1 a.m. after a driver passing by phone 911. Crews were able to put out the fire quickly, but not before it caused heavy damage to the empty vehicle.
The bus was parked away from any buildings.
Investigators said, based on the video, the person likely parked at the entrance of a nearby abandoned grocery store.
