Gunman shoots man in both kneecaps in Atlanta home

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A gunman has opened fire inside a Southwest Atlanta home, shooting a man in both of his kneecaps.

Atlanta police the shooting happened in a home on the 3600 block a little before 12:30 Tuesday morning.

Police say several people were inside the home, but nobody was able to tell officers what happened or describe the suspect.

The 34-year-old victim was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. Officials say the victim is alert, concious and breathing.

Police are now working to examine surveillance footage from the home.

They have not released any information on a motive or how the shooting took place.
