Gunman opens fire on Hwy 166, injures driver

A man driving lost control and crashed his car after being shot in a drive-by Saturday in Atlanta, according to the Atlanta Police Department. 

Investigators tell FOX 5 the man was driving on Westbound Highway 166 at Greenbriar Parkway when another car drove up and shot at the man several times. Police say the victim was hit, lost control of his vehicle, then drove into a ditch.

The victim was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition with a head injury. Authorities do not know if the victim's injuries are a result of being shot or because of the accident. 

Atlanta Police continue to search for the gunman and anyone else involved. They're also working to determine what led up to the gunfire.

Arthur Langford Parkway and Greenbriar Parkway were closed down as police began their investigation.
