Grandmother pleads guilty in deadly dog attack

A grandmother pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in a dog attack that killed her 20-month-old grandson.

Police said Sandra Adams was outside with her grandson last August at her home in Hartwell near the South Carolina border when her two pit bulls ran out and attacked the boy.

Adams and her daughter rushed the child to an urgent care center, but he did not survive.

She was sentenced to 10 years of probation, 100 hours of community service, and a $2,500 fine.

Adams had been cited multiple times by police for disorderly animals.
