The legislation is fixing a flaw in the Georgia Law.
Drivers were not required to stop for a school bus with its stop arm out if there was a turn lane between the bus and oncoming traffic.
The new law requires drivers to stop unless there is a physical barrier dividing the road like a grass or concrete median.
This is the first bill that Governor Kemp has signed into law since taking office.
The law goes into effect immediately.
