Gov. Deal signs adoption modernization bill
ATLANTA - Governor Nathan Deal signed a bill Monday supporters said will modernize and streamline Georgia's adoption process.
The bill, which passed in the House and Senate with bipartisan support, will make several changes to the state's adoption code which hadn't been updated since the early 1990s.
The bill Governor Deal signed Monday is separate from the controversial bill that would allow faith-based adoption agencies to refuse LGBT clients.
That bill is still under debate.
