Thrills at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame
Buckle up and start your engines, because Dawsonville's Georgia Racing Hall of Fame is now making it easier than ever to feed that need for speed.
ATLANTA - Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville:
Think you have what it takes to make it into the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame? Well, there's only one way to find out! So, buckle up and start your engines -- because the Dawsonville attraction is now making it easier than ever to feed that need for speed!
This morning on Good Day Atlanta, we spent a few hours with the team at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame, the racing museum located in the home of Awesome Bill himself ... Bill Elliott! Not only is Awesome Bill from Dawsonville a 2002 inductee into the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame — his wife Cindy also happens to be the museum director (oh, and their son Chase happens to be a pretty well-known driver, too!). In other words, this is a place that not only celebrates Georgia's rich racing tradition -- but does so with a uniquely personal touch.
Along with featuring an astonishing collection of cars, trophies, and memorabilia stretching back to the infancy of auto racing — the museum now features race simulators, giving visitors a chance to experience the thrill of the motorsport without ever having to step outside the building. The museum offers Thunder Road packages (available for purchase in store only) which include simulator sessions, museum admission, and other perks. Simulator-only sessions are also available for purchase at the museum or online.
The Georgia Racing Hall of Fame is located at 415 Highway 53 East in Dawsonville, and museum admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and military, and $5 for children. Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays -- click here for more information on visiting.
