Georgia man accused of killing missing Myrtle Beach man

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — A Georgia man has been charged following the death of a missing Myrtle Beach man whose remains were found last week, more than a month after he went missing.

Horry County police Lt. Raul Denis tells media outlets that 29-year-old Johnathan Lamar Hillary of Augusta is facing a murder charge in the death of 51-year-old Timothy Francis Buckley.

Buckley was a former town council member and police officer in Riverhead, New York, who was last seen on Sept 28. His remains were discovered in a wooded lot in unincorporated Myrtle Beach on Nov. 10.

Bernithia Young, 33, of Atlanta was charged with accessory after the fact to a felony. Both suspects were arrested in Atlanta and are expected to be extradited to South Carolina. It's unclear whether they have attorneys.
