Georgia law enforcement agencies help Louisiana flood victims

ATLANTA - Representatives of 27 law enforcement agencies across the state of Georgia helped collect donations for victims of the historic flooding in Louisiana.

The donations filled five tractor-trailer rigs, which set off for Baton Rouge Wednesday afternoon.

The Atlanta Police and Corrections Departments coordinated the donation drive. DoC Chief Patrick Labat said Georgians have been extremely generous and the effort collected more than twice as many relief supplies as expected. Labat accompanied the truck convoy to Louisiana.

The convoy is carrying clothes for adults and children, cleaning supplies and personal hygiene products, even pet food for families displaced by the flood.
