Georgia Republicans came together in a show of party unity.

Thursday night, Governor Nathan Deal, Senator David Perdue, and other prominent Georgia Republicans held a unity rally in Peachtree Corners.

Among the guests were Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle and Secretary of State Brian Kemp, who just wrapped up a long and often bitter runoff to become the party's nominee for governor.

Now, the party said that rivalry is over and they plan to come together to win November’s election.

Kemp took home the GOP nomination on Tuesday, beating Cagle with nearly 70 percent of the vote.

The one-time underdog candidate appeared to get a big boost after President Trump tweeted his support for Kemp.
