GBI investigates officer-involved shooting in Atlanta

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was asked to investigate an officer-involved shooting that left a suspect with a gunshot wound to his hand.

It happened Sunday morning just after 7:30 near Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard and Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.

According to authorities, they received a 911 call about a person with a gun.

When officers arrived, they spotted a man with a gun. Officers told the man to stop, but police said he pulled out the gun. Police said both officers fired, hitting the suspect in the hand. The man fled the scene, but was arrested a couple blocks away at a home.

The man, whose name has not yet been released, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

No word on charges.
