HENRY COUNTY, Ga. - A major collision involving a garbage truck and another vehicle shut down Highway 155 in both directions in Henry County, triggering heavy traffic delays in the area.

What we know:

Emergency crews responded to the crash along Highway 155, also known as McDonough Highway, near Jonesboro Road and Henry Parkway Connector and east of I-75.

Aerial footage from the scene showed a garbage truck angled across the roadway alongside a severely damaged passenger vehicle. Skid marks and scattered debris stretched across the lanes where the impact occurred.

Law enforcement officers closed Highway 155 in both directions to allow emergency personnel to work and launch an investigation into the crash. Traffic in the surrounding area was brought to a standstill as motorists were forced to seek alternate routes.
