GA-400 construction worker hit by vehicle

ALPHARETTA, Ga. - A construction worker was struck by a vehicle while working on Georgia Highway 400 early Tuesday morning.

The accident took place a couple of miles north of Mansell Road in the southbound lanes of the busy highway. The entire highway was closed heading south for hours as Alpharetta police investigated the scene.

Investigators said the worker was rushed to a nearby hospital. No word yet on the worker's condition. 

Police said they think the driver stopped after the accident. No arrests have been made, but police said it's early in the investigation.
