Students in Fulton County are set to return to classes in one week.

Monday, school officials held a meeting to discuss plans for the upcoming year including the billion-dollar budget passed last week.

Under the new budget, Superintendent Jeff Rose said all employees will receive a pay raise.

In addition, the district will hire 10 new social workers.

Rose also discussed school safety following several deadly school shootings across the country this year.

He said safety is a top priority for the district and something they will continue to invest in.

During Monday's meeting, Rose said the district is working with a special committee to address student safety.

He said the district expects them to improve new safety recommendations in the next two months.
