Free summer meals for Georgia children in need
ATLANTA - Wednesday marked the Georgia Summer Meals Program Kickoff.
The program allows students who qualify to receive for free federally-funded meals over the summer.
In Wednesday's presentation, officials said about a million kids across the state benefit from free meal programs during the school year and so the program continues to help through the summer.
Coordinators said they've made it easy for kids to get the information on the program they need.
The program is made possible by the Atlanta Community Food Bank and the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning.
